Here’s a little bit about me:
I live with my wonderful wife Karen and our two cats – Kosmo and Boo – in Aloha, Oregon.
I’m pastor of Immanuel Community Church in Aloha, Oregon. I teach the Junior High and Senior High Bible classes at a Christian school in the area (and love it!).
We don’t have any children yet, but we’re in the process of adopting.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Western Washington University and a Master of Divinity from Western Conservative Baptist Seminary. I pastored a church in eastern Washington state from October 1999 through January 2007.
Theologically, I’m an evangelical – well within the boundaries of historic, orthodox Christianity – and have some Reformed leanings (but I’m not angry about it!). God saved me by grace alone through faith alone because of Christ alone in November of 1980. Based on my gratitude to the Lord for who He is and what He’s done, it’s been my desire to follow, love, serve, obey, praise, and glorify Him all the days of my life. I haven’t always succeeded - my best efforts are consistently tainted and polluted by sin – and He has been abundantly gracious and merciful with me!
My purpose is to glorify God by helping others to think and act biblically. My “life verse” is 1 Corinthians 10:31 – “Whether, then, you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all for the glory of God.”
