We watched the Hillsboro Hops defeat the Eugene Emeralds in their season finale at Ron Tonkin Field. As usual, we had a great time! The Hops won all four games we saw in person this year (4-0).
We spent a day in Tillamook visiting very, very dear friends. We had good coffee, toured a dairy, saw the progress on a new office and shop being built, ate good food, and had encouraging fellowship.
We received 19 new members at Cross Creek Bible Church! Praise God for His goodness and provision!
We celebrated National Cheeseburger Day by having Tillamook cheeseburgers at Burgerville.
We attended a reunion of people who worked at Mervyn’s at Vancouver Mall. We had good food and got caught up at the Mill Creek Pub in Battle Ground, Washington.
We watched the Portland State Vikings football team go 3-0 for the first time in 15 years with a 31-0 win over the Western Oregon Wolves at Providence Park. Thank you John & Stacey!
I read What is Faith? by J. Gresham Machen – a classic exploring the biblical definition of faith and what it means to us.
I read What is a Healthy Church Member? by Thabiti Anyabwile. Church membership has gotten a bad rap for far too long. Mark Dever’s 9Marks organization is trying to change that, among other things. Anyabwile’s book is part of the 9Marks series of books.
I read The Attributes of God by A.W. Pink. Today’s church needs a deeper and more expansive knowledge of God more than anything else. This book can help that happen.
